Two Waratahs

Land and Gardens

Our land is 50 acres (22.5 HA) in total. It directly abuts a further 50 acres of Crown Reserve which is partially fenced in common. A previous owner ran goats on the combined property.

There is abundant bird life. We hand feed a family of kookaburras and they allow us to stroke them. There are several pairs of "Maned Geese" on the property and this year we have had 2 clutches (9 & 7 chicks) hatched with the families spending considerable time on the lawns close to the house. These birds live here due to the availability of water from the dam and fire pond.

There are approximately 11 Km of vehicle accessible tracks on the combined property.

The bush is home to rock wallabies and bird life. After rain, the gullies have streams with waterfalls. There is a patch of native waratahs in gullies.

A palm shaded 9m x 4 x 2 deep in ground salt water swimming pool is 10 metres from the front door. This pool has a brand new pump (3 year warranty) and Zeolite filter (10 years on vessel, 1 on the valve assembly) fitted in early February 2011. The property includes all pool maintenance tools.

The gardens are easy care natives to encourage bird life. There is a productive citrus grove (we had > 800 lemons from the tree last year!). The garden also features a number of deciduous exotics for autumn colour.

There are 2 wire enclosed irrigated gardens. One is plastic framed greenhouse style shade house ~8m x 4m. This is located close to the house. The other is a Nissen style (half round) wire hut ~ 10 metres long. Both are fitted with micro irrigation fed from either the tanks or optionally the mains.

Approximately 100 metres from the house is a flat grassy paddock of approximately 3/4 acre which would be ideal for a horse arena or simple grazing land. There is a free standing shed and water from the properties water system is available (there are 4 taps) throughout the paddock.
